History

The Tempus Jets family of companies represents the corporate aviation division of Orion Air Group Holdings, LLC. Orion Air Group was formed in December 2007 by Scott Terry to provide aircraft management and acquisition services for high net-worth individuals, corporations and government clients. Having managed a large fleet of Bombardier products in a previous business and directing the Western Hemisphere government business for Bombardier Aerospace for a number of years, it was fitting that Orion’s first management contract involved the acquisition and operation of an ultra long-range Global Express aircraft.

As the business continued to grow, particularly with the addition of several government contracts for leased aircraft and related services, it became apparent that the corporate aviation business should be separated from the government business. This strategic re-alignment resulted in the formation of Tempus Jets, LLC in October 2009, which initially focused on the executive air charter brokerage business. Since then, the Tempus Jets brand has expanded to include Tempus Jets, Inc. (Part 135 air carrier) and Tempus Jets Trading, LLC (sales and acquisitions).

In December 2010, the first Tempus Jets Center opened in Newport News, VA (KPHF) to provide Part 145 repair station capability and FBO services. Tempus Jets now forms a significant portion of Orion Air Group’s business portfolio, which represents more than $120 million in annual revenue and employs approximately 110 aviation professionals.
