Global Flight Relief

Global Flight Relief

Global Flight Relief (GFR) was founded in 2011 by Scott Terry, Chief Executive Officer of Tempus. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, partnering with Tempus, makes aircraft available to first responders worldwide, so that communities in crisis have access to medical treatment, supplies, food, water, and temporary shelter.

Global Flight Relief delivers humanitarian assistance to locations that are hit by natural or man-made disasters, using our fleet and our influence to secure and deliver emergency supplies where they are needed most. Global Flight Relief has a variety of aviation assets within their fleet, including a wide-body Lockheed L-1011, a Gulfstream III, a Cessna Grand Caravan, a King Air E-90, and a Bell 412 Helicopter. Additionally, Tempus supports GFR by providing supplemental aircraft which makes mission work possible in some of the world's most inaccessible areas.

With the help of Global Flight Relief, much work is being done in remote villages of Africa, where many afflictions are present, including physical disfigurements, disabilities, weakened bodies, mental distress, and other medical ailments. These people have virtually no access to healthcare- professionals or supplies. Global Flight Relief airlifts hope to those who need it most - to the very last mile.
Project Green Skyy

Project Green Skyy

At Tempus, we recognize that as an aviation company, our fleet of aircraft has a substantial carbon footprint. Project Green Skyy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tempus and it is our commitment to operating as a "carbon neutral" company. Working with a team of conservation-minded partners, Tempus donated 623 acres of Virginia timberland to a conservation easement, protecting it from development or clearing. About 64,000 longleaf pine seedlings have been planted on this land, enhancing the carbon sequestering capability of the property for the next 75 years.

To maximize the use of the Project Green Skyy property, we have developed Green Skyy Farms, using sustainable and natural farming techniques. By planting crops that take advantage of the innate qualities in the land and water, Green Skyy Farms seeks to promote biodiversity and a healthy local ecosystem. The produce from the farm is sold locally. By focusing on local distribution, Green Skyy Farms embodies our values of sustainability and social responsibility. By promoting the production and consumption of fresh local foods, we try to make both the community, and the people in it, stronger and healthier.
Eastern Congo Initiative

Eastern Congo Initiative

The Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI) is the first U.S.-based advocacy and grant-making initiative wholly focused on working with and for the people of the eastern portion of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. ECI believes that local, community-based approaches are essential to creating a sustainable, successful society in eastern Congo. Tempus has partnered with ECI and works to provide monetary grants and aviation support to help the former child soldiers and rape victims attend school so that they may re-enter their communities as productive members of society.
